Stampendous Clear Scraps Blog Hop

Due to a strong storm followed by a power outage, I am not able to post my project for today's blog hop. I can tell you I had a blast working with all of the fantastic products from Stampendous stamps and Essentials such as Mica Fragments to the Clear Scraps acrylic albums and cards and we can't forget Tsukineko. I love Tsukineko and all of their incredible inks. My thanks to all three companies for their generosity and their continued excellence in manufacturing superior quality products.

Here is the link to a post I made earlier in the week. It features an ATC I made for this collaboration. http://mynoteworthycards.blogspot.com/2012/06/stampendous-clearscraps-blog.html

Please keep hopping and I'll meet up with you the next time around.

Stampendous Clear Scraps Blog Collaboration

All this week, Stampendous has teamed up with Clear Scraps for an incredible blog collaboration. We all have had fun creating projects using Stampendous stamps and Essentials, Clear Scraps albums and cards and Tsukineko inks.

Today, I’m sharing an ATC. Clear Scraps sells their acrylic in 12" x 12" sheets that is so easy to cut/die-cut. After creating my ATC and rounding the corners with my Corner Chomper, I stamped the Stampendous Cling Calligraphy Sampler using StazOn Jet Black ink. I then flipped my ATC over and dripped alcohol ink onto the back. After letting the ink dry, I covered the back with Redline tape. I then sprinkled Stampendous Pearlized Mica Fragments and Gilded Mica Fragments over the tape and covered it with a piece of white paper.

The bird is the Stampendous Cling Lone Bird which I stamped on a piece of scrap paper using StazOn Timber Brown ink, fussy-cut and then embossed using VersaMark and Stampendous Deep Impression Chunky Clear Embossing Enamel. I embellished with Recollections flowers, Graphic 45 brads and Momenta metal pieces. Please click on the pictures to see the detail.

And now the fun begins. Both Stampendous and Clear Scraps are giving away really cool prizes. There are several ways to win, one of which is by just leaving comments. For all of the details, please visit both the Stampendous blog and the Clear Scraps blog.

A Summer Birthday

Today's my mum's birthday. Unfortunately her card sits here on my desk, unsent. I'm so far behind that I haven't even made my Father's Day cards. How long do I have before my being late turns into being ahead for next year?

This beautiful Stampendous image reminds me of my mum and her flower gardens. I love it when the two of us walk around looking at all of her pretty flowers. We used to do this everytime we visited my grandmother as well. Fond memories. Happy Birthday Mum! I hope your day is filled with happiness and pretty flowers.

My birthday card is perfect for the Stampendous Saturday Challenge. June's theme is summer. Simply create a summer themed project of some sort and add the direct link for your project to the collection on the Stampendous blog. You have until Thursday, June 28 at 11:59 PM EST. One lucky crafter (drawn at random) will receive this fabulous new Friendly Phrases Perfectly Clear stamp set:

You don't have to use Stampendous products on your project but if you do use them, your entry will count twice, which increases your chance of winning. Due to shipping restrictions, the winner must have a US address.

It would be terrific if you would join in the fun and play along with all of us at Stampendous.

Please check out the Stampendous blog on Saturday for a roundup of all the great summer projects created this week by Stampendous Design Team members.

My card uses the Stampendous Cling Daffodil Girl image stamped on X-Press It Blending Card and colored with my Copics. I love this stamp. It is so much fun to color.

I also used the flourish from the Stampendous Cling Jumbo Tiger Lily set stamped in VersaMark ink on the teal panel. The sentiment is from the Stampendous Orchid Greetings set. Do you recognize the layout of my card? I'm playing along with this week's Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. This is sketch SC391.

Thanks for visiting today. Please check out all of the glorious summer flowers over at Stampendous.

Happy Birthday Mum!

Summer Time is the Best Time

Today, I'd like to share a layout I created for this month's Stampendous Saturday Challenge. It's a layout about the wonderful day we had when my dad taught my son how to fly a kite. He surprised my son with a beautiful butterfly kite so they spent most of the day in the backyard, laughing and carrying on. It was a good day.

It would be terrific if you would join in the fun and play along with all of us.

Please check out the Stampendous blog on Saturday for a roundup of all the great summer projects created this week by Stampendous Design Team members.

To create my layout, I started by stamping both butterflies from the Stampendous Cling Jumbo Butterfly Pair set randomly on the patterned paper using VersaMark ink. I also inked the edges of the orange panel with VersaMark and then sprinkled it with Stampendous Aged Gold Embossing Enamel. After heat setting, I adhered the orange panel to the base of the layout. Next, I stamped the butterflies on Stampendous Thermo Acetate using VersaMark ink and then embossed them in Stampendous Midnight Black Embossing Powder. I am very sad because Thermo Acetate is no longer being manufactured.
I am sad because it is an amazing product, a thick, high-quality acetate that you can ink, stamp and emboss without warping and melting. If you see this great product at your local store, snag it and then be prepared to fall in love. My hope is that if enough people ask, Stampendous will bring it back. I fussy-cut the butterflies and then colored them with alcohol ink. Next I sprinkled them with Aged Gold Embossing Enamel (no glue or ink necessary) and heated them from underneath to melt the enamel. I wish I was a better photographer so you could see all of the shimmer and shine.

Stampendous Products Used:

Cling Jumbo Butterfly Pair Set CRS5008
Aged Gold Embossing Enamel FREG024
Midnight Black Embossing Powder EP111
Thermo Acetate PC75

Other Products Used:

Flower Child Aquarius patterned paper from the Bo Bunny A Gift of Love line; Orange Juice patterned paper from the Jillibean Soup Watermelon Gazpacho Soup line; Sunset Orange,Red Pepper and Sunshine Yellow Adirondack Alcohol Inks

Thanks for visiting today. Happy Summer!

This Week's Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Digi Challenge: CAS with 2 Layers

It's time for a new Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge. This week's challenge (SNSDC58) is a 2 layer CAS card which of course uses only digital stamps. All of the details can be found over at the Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge blog.

My card uses two different Sweet 'n Sassy digital stamps: Opal Owl and Owl Sentiments 2. The 2 layers were created by diecutting a circle from a piece of mustard yellow cardstock and a slightly larger scalloped circle from a piece of kraft cardstock. I trimmed the negative space of the kraft cardstock to a 4" x 5-1/4" mat and printed my sentiment on it. I adhered both together and embossed them with a woodgrain embossing folder which was coated with VersaMark ink. After sizing Opal (yes, this is one of the great things about digital stamps), I printed her on white cardstock and also on two different pieces of patterned paper which was part of the My Mind's Eye Stella Rose collection. I paper pieced Opal and voila, a clean and simple card.

It would be great if you would play along with this week's challenge. I had fun, I know you would too.
